Trails .. what you should bring ..
Before heading out on the trail, be sure to
have the following items in your daypack:
1. Plenty of water to prevent dehydration
2. Snacks or a lunch to eat on the trail
3. Sunscreen and a hat to prevent sunburn
4. Rain shell & layers of fleece for warmth
5. Mosquito and bug repellent
6. Bear spray
7. Enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure
8. A camera to capture lifetime memories

Eddie’s Restaurant in Apgar
Russell’s Fireside Dining Room and Jammer Joe’s Restaurant & Pizzaria at Lake McDonald
Ptarmigan Dining Room, Heidi’s Snack Bar, and the Italian Garden Ristorante in the Many Glacier Valley
Two Dog Flats Grill at Rising Sun
Snack Bar at Two Medicine Campstore.
Breaking down by area..
There are about four popular accessible areas of the park that
have lakes .. boating .. hiking an so forth. Other areas such as Travel to the sun
road have multiple places for hiking. There is also the Northern
Fork area and The Canadian part of the Park. Here is a list ..
Many Glacier
.. which is the area we are staying in
Includes the Lake Josephine and Swift Current Lake . (used for
boating tours) as well as several other lakes and hikes .. and a place to
eat. Also have horse rides in this
area
Saint Mary Lake (and Logan Pass)
Which includes Saint Mary Lake with boat trips and rentals .. a place to eat and many smaller
lakes and hiking trails
Apgar and Lake McDonald (same area)
Apgar has boat rentals for on Lake McDonald and Lake McDonald
Lodge area has boat trips. Both Apgar and Lake McDonald have horse rides .. also
.. there is a corral with horses just outside this west end of the
park
Two Medicine
Which includes a smaller lake and boat trips as well as a snack
bar at the camp store and other trails
Goat Haunt .. North Folk trails
Waterton Lakes .. The Canadian part of Glacier National park
Places of interest outside of Glacier National Park
Yellowstone National Park .. 6 hours 39 minutes just to get to Gardiner North entrance
Big Horn Canyon Recreation area 9 hours 3 minutes
Hungry Horse Resevoir .. 2 hours 30 minutes
